Swedish in Milwaukee: My Life as a Writer: What matters
This article deals with "transparency" not of the political sort but the existential. The author speaks of what might be called "self-transparency" with respect to one's own "deep" feelings, learning to attend to what one really feels beneath the distractions of "entertainment", "consumption", "keeping up with the Jonses", beneath mass delusions (Fundamentalisms, secular or relgious, all alienating ideologies).
One cannot probably achieve any real measure of political authenticity or maturity without first achieving a good measure of "self-transparency"
